| One of my various custom archtypes, the Black Sun Archetype focus on banishing its own cards, and manipulating those cards to quickly summon its ace card, "Dragon of Black Sun - Kuroi Amaterasu", then using its effect to boost its ATK each turn to completely overpower its opponent while also removing certain monsters to activate their effects, "Shadow Star - Black Prominence" can also be used to kill the opponent (however its Limited so good luck with that). Another important part of this deck is protecting Kuroi Amaterasu after it hits the field, at the start the most ATK it can have is 1800, so a card like "Black Sun - Barrier" is required to allow it to endure any attacks by monsters with higher ATK, also Kuroi Amaterasu will probably need protection from other card effects (though things like Dimensional Prison and Mirror Force wont work on it), "Black Sun - Shield" and "Black Sun Veil" are effective at keeping Kuroi Amaterasu alive, for a finishing touch get "Black Sun - Barrier" and "Black Sun - Shield" in play, then follow up with "Black Sun - Treasure Guard" and your dragon will be invincible (though with nothing to search them out, dont count on getting that set up too often). Some of the key monsters in this set are "Kuroi Amaterasu" (The major powerhouse of this deck, its ATK can reach very high levels and it can be used to activate the effects of Black Sun monsters in your Graveyard), "Black Sun - Faded Phantom" (Good for removing annoying cards or just taking out a back row card so you dont have to worry about it), "Black Sun - Black Knight" (Can banish several monsters for their effects), "Black Sun - Obsidian Fox" (Free card when its removed, can send cards back to the Graveyard for removal by Kuroi. It was rather evil in my last duel when I managed to combo it with Faded Phantom to remove my opponents last monster. Finally its ATK boost can help if you cant get out Kuroi Amaterasu), and "Black Sun - Sunspot Blaze" (Allows you to get out Kuroi Amaterasu easier, plus once its removed all your monsters get +400 ATK). However there are several cards you need to watch out for, "Dimensional Prison" and "Macro Cosmos" not only dont work with this deck, but can completely destroy it by leaving your Kuroi Amaterasu with nothing to remove (though I guess a build using Fox and some of the lower ATK monsters to swarm could be possible), also "Imperial Iron Wall" which basically shuts down the whole deck, also any anti-special summon cards will probably wreck your deck as well. Star of Darkness ~ Black Sun- Dragon of Black Sun - Kuroi Amaterasu:
Name: Dragon of Black Sun - Kuroi Amaterasu Level: ************ Attribute: Dark Type: Dragon/Synchro/Effect ATK: 0 DEF: 2000 Effect: 1 "Black Sun" Tuner monster + 1 or more non-Tuner "Black Sun" monsters. Once per turn: You can banish a "Black Sun" monster in your Graveyard; This card gains ATK equal to the ATK of the banished monster. If this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate Spell or Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step.
- Black Sun - Faded Phantom:
Name: Black Sun - Faded Phantom Level: **** Attribute: Dark Type: Zombie/Effect ATK: 1600 DEF: 100 Effect: When this card is banished: Target 1 card your opponent controls; Banish the target until your opponent's 3rd End Phase after the activation of this effect.
- Black Sun - Shadow Hawk:
Name: Black Sun - Shadow Hawk Level: **** Attribute: Dark Type: Winged-Beast/Effect ATK: 1800 DEF: 1100 Effect: Once per turn: You can banish 1 "Black Sun" monster in your hand. During your opponent's Standby Phase: You can banish 1 "Black Sun" monster in your Graveyard; Banish this card until the End Phase.
- Black Sun - Black Knight:
Name: Black Sun - Black Knight Level: **** Attribute: Dark Type: Warrior/Effect ATK: 1700 DEF: 1200 Effect: When this card is Normal Summoned: Banish a "Black Sun" monster in your Deck.
- Black Sun - Star Invoker:
Name: Black Sun - Star Invoker Level: ** Attribute: Dark Type: Spellcaster/Tuner/Effect ATK: 1000 DEF: 1000 Effect: When this card is Normal Summoend or Special Summoned in Attack Position: Target 1 of your banished "Black Sun" monsters: Increase this card's Level by the Level of the target. When this card is banished: Target 1 "Black Sun - Star Invoker" in your Deck; Special Summon it.
- Black Sun - Shadow Invader:
Name: Black Sun - Shadow Invader Level: *** Attribute: Dark Type: Fiend/Effect ATK: 800 DEF: 1200 Effect: You can banish a "Black Sun" monster to Special Summon this card (from your hand). If this card is Special Summoned by its effect: You can increase this card's Level by 1.
- Black Sun - Obsidian Fox:
Name: Black Sun - Obsidian Fox Level: ** Attribute: Dark Type: Beast/Effect ATK: 500 DEF: 500 Effect: Increase the ATK of all "Black Sun" monsters you control with an Original ATK of 1000 or less by 1000 (other cards with this effect have this effect negated). When this card is banished: Target 1 banished "Black Sun" monster (except "Black Sun - Obsidian Fox"); Return the target to the Graveyard and draw 1 card
- Black Sun - Demented Mind:
Name: Black Sun - Demented Mind Level: *** Attribute: Dark Type: Psychic/Tuner/Effect ATK: 500 DEF: 1800 Effect: If this card is banished by the effect of a "Black Sun" monster: You can pay 800 Life Points; Special Summon this card.
- Black Sun - Veiled Gear:
Name: Black Sun - Veiled Gear Level: ** Attribute: Dark Type: Machine/Effect ATK: 600 DEF: 200 Effect: When a "Black Sun" monster is is returned to your Deck or leaves the field by your opponent's card effect, you can Specal Summon this card (from your Deck) by sending a banished "Black Sun" monster to your Graveyard. If this card is banished: You can Special Summon a "Black Sun" monster from your Graveyard and halve its ATK.
- Shadow Star - Black Prominence:
Name: Shadow Star - Black Prominence Type: Spell Card Effect: Target 1 "Dragon of Black Sun - Kuroi Amaterasu" you control; Inflict damage to your opponent equal to its ATK, then reduce its ATK to 0.
- Black Sun - Fallen Fairy:
Name: Black Sun - Fallen Fairy Level: *** Attribute: Dark Type: Fairy/Effect ATK: 1400 DEF: 200 Effect: When this card is Normal Summoned: You can discard 1 card; This card is treated as a Tuner monster until the End Phase. If this card is banished: Target this card; You can Special Summon it (this effect can only be used once per duel).
- Black Solar Flare:
Name: Black Solar Flare Type: Quick-Play Spell Card Effect: Destroy 1 "Black Sun" monster you control and 1 face-up card your opponent controls.
- Black Sun - Inferno Heat:
Name: Black Sun - Inferno Heat Type: Continous Spell Card Effect: "Black Sun" monsters you contorl gain 300 ATK. If this card is destroyed: Inflict 700 damage to your opponent.
- Darkness - Chain Inferno:
Name: Darkness - Chain Inferno Type: Quick-Play Spell Card Effect: When you Normal Summon a "Black Sun" monster: Target 1 of your banished "Black Sun" monsters; Special Summon it, it is banished during the End Phase.
- Raising Black Sun:
Name: Raising Black Sun Type: Spell Card Effect: Banish 1 "Black Sun" monster in your hand, field, or Graveyard: Draw 1 card.
- Star of Darkness - Black Sun:
Name: Star of Darkness - Black Sun Type: Spell Card Effect: Send 1 of your banished "Black Sun" monsters to the Graveyard and target a "Black Sun" monster you control. Increase the Level of the target by the Level of the sent monster.
- Double Black Sun:
Name: Double Black Sun Type: Spell Card Effect: Target 1 "Black Sun" monster you control; Special Summon a monster of the same name as the target from your Deck, destroy it during the End Phase, then banish the target.
- Black Sun Veil:
Name: Black Sun Veil Type: Quick-Play Spell Card Effect: Target a "Black Sun" monster you control; It is unaffected by the effects of your opponent's cards until the End Phase.
- Treasure of the Black Sun:
Name: Treasure of the Black Sun Type: Spell Card Effect: Return 2 banished "Black Sun" monsters to your Graveyard; Draw 2 cards, then discard 1 card.
- Black Sun Recovery:
Name: Black Sun Recovery Type: Spell Card Effect: If you have 2 or less cards in your hand and 3 or less cards on the field: Discard you hand; Draw 2 cards for each "Black Sun" monster you control (MAX: 4).
- Requiem of Black Sun:
Name: Requiem of Black Sun Type: Spell Card Effect: Pay 800 Life Points, and target 2 "Black Sun" monsters in your Deck; Send them to the Graveyard, they cannot be Special Summoned.
- Black Sun - Barrier:
Name: Black Sun - Barrier Type: Continuous Trap Card Effect: Target 1 "Black Sun" monster you control. It cannot be destroyed by battle while you control this card. Destroy this card if you do not control the target monster.
- Black Sun - Shield:
Name: Black Sun - Shield Type: Continuous Trap Card Effect: Target 1 "Black Sun" monster you control. It cannot be destroyed or leave the field by card effects while you control this card. Destroy this card if you do not control the target monster.
- Black Sun's Treasure Guard:
Name: Black Sun's Treasure Guard Type: Continuous Trap Card Effect: You can only control 1 face-up "Black Sun's Treasure Guard". Target 2 cards you control. They cannot be destroyed or leave from the field while you control this card. Target 1 "Black Sun" monster you control (except a monster already selected by this card's effect). Destroy this card if you do not control the target.
- Behind the Black Sun:
Name: Behind the Black Sun Type: Counter Trap Card Effect: When yoru opponent activates a Spell, Trap, or Effect Monsters effect: Release 1 "Black Sun" monster you control; Negate the activation and effect of the Spell, Trap, or Effect Monster's Effect and destroy it.
- Recollection - Black Sun:
Name: Recollection - Black Sun Type: Counter Trap Card Effect: When a "Black Sun" monster is destroyed during your opponent's turn: During your next Standby Phase, Special Summon 1 "Black Sun" monster from your Graveyard or that has been banished.
- Black Sun - Sunspot Blaze:
Name: Black Sun - Sunspot Blaze Level: *** Attribute: Dark Type: Pyro/Effect ATK: 1500 DEF: 200 Effect: When you Normal Summon this monster: You can reduce its Level by 1 and its ATK to 0. Then, you can Normal Summon once again during this turn. While this card is removed from play, "Black Sun" monsters you control gain 400 ATK (you can only apply the effect of 1 "Black Sun - Sunspot Blaze").
